It can even be used on the cuttings or recently pruned plants. So, here's how to make potent fungicide and save your green friends:

Ingredients for the fungicide are chosen such that they are easily available in all kitchen and therefore universal. So, there is no need to venture outside. Just stay safe at home.

Ingredients:

Cinnamon: Cinnamon is much more than just a wonder spice. From saving teeny-tiny seedling to helping cutting develop roots, Cinnamon powder is truly versatile. If you have ants loitering around your favorite plant, just create a circle of cinnamon powder around the plant stem and BAM!!! your summer ant problem is solved. I know, I know now you will reach for this wonder spice whenever you have any garden emergency.

Fact:  Cinnamon powder will not kill ants. Ants just don't like to loiter where the cinnamon powder is sprinkled. So you can get rid of ants without killing them.

Cloves: Cloves contain eugenol which is an effective antifungal compound.

Turmeric powder: This golden versatile spice is a staple in almost every kitchen. It is widely used as an antibacterial agent (also an antiseptic agent) and can help plant growth by eliminating microbial competitors, which siphon off all the essential nutrients from the plant.

Add all the three ingredients in the grinder and grind it into a smooth powder. Store in it a dry, airtight container. Wasn't it easy?

How to apply the homemade fungicide powder?

A] Direct Application: If you are propagating your cuttings, then you can go for direct application of this fungicide. Just dip the cutting in the fungicide powder and then transfer directly into the soil. This way you can leverage dual benefits: 

1]the fungicide powder will keep your cuttings safe from fungal infestation. [Turmeric powder is anti-bacterial and antiseptic by nature :]

2] Also, the powder contains active ingredients such as cloves and cinnamon which can boost rooting in the cuttings.

B] Application via cloth: If your plant has a little amount of fungal infestation then follow this method. Take the required amount of homemade fungicide in a sieve or porous cloth. Directly apply to the affected part by patting the cloth or just dab over the infected area. This will ensure the application of only effectively ground smooth powder directly on the affected part of the plant and save wastage of the powder. Do not throw away the residue left behind in the cloth. You can use this residue in your potting mix. Add the residue left, in your potting mix. This will increase the quality of your potting mix and eventually the survival rates of your plant. 

C] Application via solution: It is difficult to prepare a well-mixed homogeneous solution from this powder. But if you are patient enough to prepare it, then here's the way to make the most of this powder: Take about 1 liter of water. Add a tablespoon of this powder and mix well. Let it brew for a few minutes until the water turns fragrant and powder is well mixed. Strain it and let it cool down completely.

Once cooled, you can spray this solution on any plant.
